The UGR Ecomarket celebrated a new edition this Thursday, May 28th, in the University Walkways of the Fuentenueva Campus, consolidating itself as an open meeting space between agroecological producers, social entities, the university community and citizens.
The activity, promoted by the Living Lab Granada Tierra Viva and the Granada Agroecological Network, is part of the actions linked to the Granada Tierra Viva campaign, within the framework of the European project SOILCRATES, financed by the Horizon Europe program of the European Union.
During the event, attendees were able to visit the various participating stalls, discover local, organic, and artisanal products, and engage directly with initiatives committed to agroecology, fair trade, the social economy, and environmental protection. The gathering highlighted the importance of short supply chains and more sustainable and responsible food models.
In addition to the market, the event featured open awareness and participation activities. These included initiatives developed in collaboration with La Estupenda, with an art workshop, and with Greenpeace Granada, focused on environmental awareness and bringing these issues closer to the university community.
The UGR Ecomarket thus became more than just a sales space: a community-oriented initiative that fosters the exchange of knowledge, the connection between university and territory, and the visibility of local projects committed to sustainability.
The day also included a raffle of two baskets of agroecological products among those who made purchases during the event, reinforcing the link between responsible consumption, citizen participation and support for local production.
With this new edition, Granada Tierra Viva continues to advance in its objective of generating spaces for learning, collaboration and meeting around the agroecological transition, environmental sustainability and the strengthening of local networks.
The next UGR Ecomarket will take place on Thursday, June 25th in Los Paseíllos Universitarios.
