SOILCRATES was given the stage during the National Soil Summit held on 4 February 2026 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, contributing to a lively sub-session centred on collaboration and co-creation in soil management.
The session combined presentations, discussion, and interactive engagement, offering participants a practical look at how SOILCRATES Living Labs operate at the intersection of practice, science, and policy.
From presentation to co-creation
The sub-session began with a short introduction by Emiel Elferink, followed by a panel discussion bringing together diverse perspectives from the Living Lab community. Speakers included Living Lab leader Jasper Wubs, soil researcher Marianne Hoogmoed, and farmer Tjerk Hof. The discussion was moderated by SOILCRATES coordinator Jildou de Raad.
After the panel, participants moved into a mini co-creation exercise, allowing attendees to directly experience the collaborative approach that underpins SOILCRATES Living Labs.
Inspiring cross-sector collaboration
The session offered a valuable opportunity to engage farmers, value chain actors, knowledge institutions, public authorities, and advisors. By presenting the work of the SOILCRATES Living Lab Northern Netherlands, the team demonstrated how locally grounded collaboration can help address soil challenges through shared learning and joint action.
SOILCRATES extends its thanks to the Ministerie van LVVN for the organisation of the summit and for the invitation to contribute to the programme.
