8 October 2025 – Granada, Spain
On 8 October 2025, the Granada Tierra Viva Living Lab held its first co-creation session at Espacio Las Sinsombrero, Medialab UGR, marking the formal start of participatory activities within the Spanish Living Lab of the European SOILCRATES project. The session brought together researchers from the University of Granada, farmers, representatives of public administrations, civil society organisations, and other local stakeholders with an interest in soil health and sustainable land management.
The objective of the session was to create a shared space for dialogue and collective reflection on soil-related challenges in the province of Granada. Participants worked collaboratively to identify key territorial priorities, discuss existing practices, and explore opportunities for experimentation through SOILCRATES-supported pilot actions. The Living Lab methodology was introduced as a framework for co-design, allowing local actors to actively shape research questions and innovation pathways.
Through facilitated group discussions and interactive dynamics, the session helped establish a common understanding of the role of the Granada Tierra Viva Living Lab as a long-term platform for experimentation, learning, and collaboration. The outcomes of this first co-creation session directly informed the planning of subsequent meetings and the preparation of experimental pilots aligned with SOILCRATES objectives.
