Biochar enriched with bovine slurry and soil through the incorporation of deep-rooted multispecies grassland/crops will be used to restore compacted soils. The biochar will increase soil carbon, release nutrients slowly over time, and contribute to greater microbial activity. The deep-rooted crops will create natural root channels, which will assist in breaking up compacted layers and improve porosity, and as the roots decompose, they will increase the soil organic matter.
