Improve grassland performance and soil health by testing two practices across fields with contrasting soil conditions. Section 1 will be power harrowed and a biochar-slurry blend applied to enhance soil structure with minimal disturbance to the thin topsoil layer. Section 2 will be deep-ploughed to break compaction and the same biochar-slurry blend will be applied and reseeded with a multispecies mix of deep-rooting plants. A comparison can then been made as to how the two fields with different conditions respond to the same treatment.
