TUS SDRI hosted a dynamic workshop at Doon Social Farm, promoting the AGRETAIN Project as part of a SOILCRATES co-creation event.
The session brought together practitioners and local actors to explore practical tools and collaborative models that support more resilient and sustainable market-gardening systems.
Key highlights from the workshop
Participants were introduced to several core AGRETAIN developments:
- A newly developed training course
Designed to support practitioners, growers, and farmers seeking to strengthen sustainable and resilient market-gardening practices. - The interactive AGRETAIN map
A digital tool bringing together key resources, real-world case studies, and regional insights. The map enables users to explore innovation across participating regions and identify relevant approaches and partners. - The emerging AGRETAIN Hubs
These hubs are envisioned as collaborative spaces where growers, experts, and local communities can connect, exchange knowledge, and test new methods in practice.
Call for market gardeners
As the hubs and interactive map continue to develop, the project team is seeking market gardeners interested in contributing their experience. Their involvement will help co-develop best-practice models tailored to the realities of the sector.
Growers or those connected to potential participants are encouraged to make contact to explore how they can become involved in the ongoing co-creation process.
This workshop reflects the growing momentum around practitioner-led innovation within SOILCRATES-related activities, strengthening links between research, training, and real-world agricultural practice.
