SUMMARY:Workshop : building skills for a new Irish agri-food sector
DESCRIPTION:TUS Thurles Campus is hosting a key stakeholder workshop with the Circular Bioeconomy Education Centre (CBEC) and the BioScaleUp project to address real skills challenges facing primary producers from these sectors. The workshop is planned as a co-creation exercise to identify skills and solutions that will enable primary producers to maximise economic value from bioresources now and in the future. \nThe aim is to co-create pilot education programmes with stakeholders that focuses on practical skills training and solutions that turn biological resources into real opportunities. \nWho should attend?\n• Farmers from all sectors (beef\, dairy\, sheep\, pig\, poultry\, fisheries\, tillage)\n• Foresters and other primary producers\n• Processors and SMEs\,\n• Farm advisors\,\n• Researchers\, and other stakeholders \n📍 Conference Centre\, TUS Thurles Campus\, Co. DESCRIPTION:Are you a farmer\, landowner\, or agribusiness stakeholder in the Ballyhoura area interested in improving soil quality?\n\n\nJoin us to participate at the SOILCRATES Living Lab co-creation session and learn how the Living Lab can address soil health issues\, such as nitrogen overuse and poor drainage\, by introducing innovative practices like biochar application\, intercropping with nitrogen-fixing plants\, and by raising awareness of the importance of good soil quality through community-oriented events. \nThe SOILCRATES Ireland Living Lab\, covering Counties Limerick\, Clare\, and Tipperary\, is part of the EU-funded SOILCRATES project.
